Vietnam is the 3rd largest market of wooden furniture to Canada

Vietnam is the third largest wood furniture supplier to Canada in January 2022, reaching $23.6 million, up 9.3% compared to December 2021, but down 36.2% compared to December 2021. 

According to calculations from statistics of Canada Department of Statistic, in January 2022 Canada imported wooden furniture reached $ 199.2 million, down 0.5% compared to December 2021, down 9.2 % compared to January 2021.

In January 2022, Canada imported the most wooden furniture from the , reaching 75.6 million USD, up 0.5% compared to December 2021, but down 17% compared to January 2021, accounting for 38% of the total import value of wooden furniture. Followed by the US reached 36.4 million USD, down 1.6% compared to December 2021, but up 13.4% compared to January 2021.

Vietnam is the third largest wood furniture supplier to Canada in January 2022, reaching $23.6 million, up 9.3% compared to December 2021, but down 36.2% compared to December 2021. The proportion of imports from Vietnam accounted for 11.8% of the total import value of wooden furniture, down 5% compared to the same period in 2021.

Wooden frame chairs and living room and dining room furniture are the main Canadian imported items in January 2022. In which, the leading in terms of turnover is wooden frame chairs with USD 85.4 million, up 3% compared to December 2021, but down 3.3% compared to January 2021.

Canada imports wooden frame chairs mainly from China and the United States, the import value from these two markets accounts for 72% of the total value of Canada’s wood frame chair imports.

Followed by living room and dining room furniture, Canada imports in January 2022 reached USD 60.3 million, down 0.9% compared to December 2021 and down 13.9% compared to January. 2021, accounting for 30.3% of the total import value of Canadian wooden furniture.

China and Vietnam are the two main supplying markets for this product to Canada in January 2022. Import value from China reached 23.9 million USD, down 1.3% compared to December 2021 and down 15.2% compared to January 2021. Imports from Vietnam reached US$8.6 million, up 6.7% compared to December 2021, but down 36.8% compared to January 2021.
